One year after the "bloodbath" of 14 May
Since 30 March 2018 the Israeli army has shot more than 7,000 Palestinians during protests at the fence that separates Gaza from Israel. The injuries – overwhelmingly to the lower limbs – have been complex and severe, and require long periods of treatment. 14 May 2018 was the bloodiest day of the protests, with 60 killed and more than 1,300 shot and injured. A year on and many of the patients are still living with the pain, uncertainty and poverty that the injuries have caused.
